Garrett Wilson
In Memoriam
We are sad to share that Garrett Wilson passed away on June 4, 2019 at the age of 39. He served on our senior management team from 2012-2019. Our Managing Partner, Thomas Daniel, was the only non-clergy to give a eulogy at Garrett’s funeral. Says Mr. Daniel, “Garrett was a trusted and dear friend – losing him is a huge personal loss to us and our families.”
Garrett was born in Longview on November 24, 1979 to Delbert Ray and Lois Faye Wilson. Upon graduation from Harleton High School, he attended John Brown University and graduated with a degree in Political Science. He received his JD from the University of Arkansas School of Law where he wrote for the Law Review.
He married the love of his life, Rebecca Lee Bollman on March 15, 2003. After working in the oil fields, he began practicing law in Longview before moving to Sugar Land where he worked faithfully as a senior attorney with the Firm.
He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2005 and The State Bar of Arkansas in 2006, as well as being admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.
Garrett was named one of the “Top 40 under 40” attorneys in Texas by the National Trial Lawyers Association and was consistently voted by his peers a “Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star,” which placed him in the top 2% of all Texas attorneys in his age group. Garrett was a part of the Kwok Daniel trial team that won the record setting verdict for Harris County in 2013, landing the Firm in the Texas Lawyers Hall of Fame.
Says Mr. Kwok, “Garrett made immeasurable contributions to the growth and success of our Firm which will continue to positively impact us well into the future. We are blessed to have known him and worked with him. We hope to honor Garrett’s legacy every day by fighting for and delivering fair results for our deserving clients. Our thoughts and prayers remain with his wonderful wife of 16 years, Rebecca Lee, and their three awesome children – Natalie Paige, Caroline Grace, and Benjamin Ethan.”
